After graduating from San Antonio College with an Associates degree in Radio, TV, and Film, I studied art, advertising and gymnastics at South West Texas University. I joined Christ Lutheran Day School in 1992. I am married and I have a grown son who graduated from CLDS (at the top of his class ;)) in 1993. I enjoy camping, live music, game nights with friends, and long walks on the beach.

Assistant Teacher

Hi!  My name is Kate Satel and I was born and raised here in Alamo Heights. This is my first year as a teacher’s assistant at Christ Lutheran and I couldn’t be more excited! I have experience working as a teaching assistant for many age groups, ranging from infancy to 2nd grade and can not wait to assist one of the 4-year-old classrooms. Over the years, I have had many family members attend and thoroughly enjoy Christ Lutheran, so it already feels like home! I studied communications at Southwestern University for 2 years and decided to move closer to home to find a program more suitable for me involving early childhood development. Working with children has always been a huge passion of mine and brought me so much joy. I can’t wait to start my new journey with the Christ Lutheran family!

Assistant Teacher

My name is Kelsey Shaw. I am thrilled to be working with your children this year and so excited to join Christ Lutheran. Throughout my career I have worked with young children in several different educational settings. The past ten years, I have been a cribs and one teacher at University Christian Church in Fort Worth, Texas. I have also previously been a teacher at Texas Tech University’s Child Development Research Center, a nanny, and a mother. I have a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Texas Tech. I have been employed in early childhood education since obtaining my degree nearly 20 years ago. This is my first year as an Assistant at Christ Lutheran Church. I am married and have an incredible nine-year-old son named Harper who is attending San Antonio Christian School. And an amazing three-year-old named Weldon who is in the three’s class at CLDS. Children are amazing human beings and are constantly awing me with their discoveries. I am looking forward to exploring, creating, and discovering life with your children.

Pre-K Teacher

My name is Missy Harris. I have a BS in Early Childhood Studies. I have been at CLDS since 2012. I have been married to my sweet husband Wade, for soon to be 28 years and I am a mom to great children. Colin, an avid history buff, is 22 and a senior at Lubbock Christian University. He is a Secondary Education major hoping to teach History and coach football. Brenna, a talented violinist, is just beginning her college career at Northeast Lakeview College here in town. She is also an Education major with a focus in Music. I guess the teaching bug trickled down to my offspring! When I am not enjoying a classroom full of pre-schoolers, I love to quilt, sew, read (historical mysteries), cook, and volunteer with Wade as the game coordinators for our church youth group.
